The inspiring conference "Designing Solutions for Education: Design Thinking in Polish," held from August 19-22, 2024, has come to an end. As participants, we had the opportunity to explore fascinating examples of real changes implemented in Polish schools and universities using design thinking tools. Thanks to the presentations by experts and practitioners, we learned how small but well-thought-out changes can have a huge impact on the educational environment.

Each webinar provided valuable insights – from building relationships in schools and engaging students in project processes, to diagnosing their needs. Examples such as the EDUS project and teacher support programs demonstrated how to effectively manage change in education, with respect for students, teachers, and the entire school community. We also learned about the innovative approach of the Canadian Primary School in Warsaw and how students from Primary School No. 10 in Zamość are driving school integration and change. We discussed the idea that design is for everyone – from preschoolers to adults.

The greatest value of the conference was the chance to see how agile approaches and design thinking tools can be used in everyday educational work. We realized that even small steps, supported by empathy and understanding, can lead to significant changes in the Polish education system.
